Ceilidhs Past and Present
Celtic knot have performed at well over 200 Ceilidhs since the group was formed. Many of these have been for weddings or special birthdays. Our youngest birthday Ceilidh to date has been for a baby naming ceremony (2 years old), and our oldest so far has been for a 75th birthday celebration! The great thing about a ceilidh is it is very inclusive of all ages and abilities.
Our corporate clients have included: Liverpool Irish Festival, The Association for Family Therapy , Manchester International Arts,Capital of Culture Liverpool, Liverpool University, The National Green Party, Liverpool Hope University, Fools Gold Theatre Company, Warrington Social Care, John Moores University, Wirral C.A.M.H.S. Bootle Team Ministry, N.H.S. Northwest Deanery, Homebaked Anfield, Royal Marines Liverpool, to name a few. Celtic Knot also frequently perform at Ceilidhs for fundraising events, and many community enterprises and charities have benefitted from holding a Celtic Knot Ceilidh.
Celtic Knot can also frequently be heard on the local folk scene. We recently played at the Albert Dock Liverpool for the Liverpool Tall Ships Festival 2018, and have performed at Wirral Folk on the Coast, Warrington Irish Festival, Stockton Heath Folk Festival, and Egremont Community Festival. We’ve also recently featured on Radio Merseyside’s Linda McDermott show.
Here’s a small selection of the feedback we recieve:
( Wedding Anniversary ) “We had a fantastic time at the party, which was made extra special by Celtic Knot. Special thanks are due to Julie, who put in loads of effort trying to herd a load anarchic, drunk cats, and to Ian who stayed on to let us play our CDs on his equipment, which allowed the cats to carry on “dancing”! It was great that the small children at the event were given the opportunity to participate – with toddlers joining up with an adult and older children given the chance to dance independently. I will definitely ask you to play at any future event.” Phil and Marie
“Hi Sandy, Hope you are all recovered from Saturday? My Mum has asked if I would drop you all a line to say a” BIG” Thank you to all of you, everyone says it was the best ceilidh they have been to. The night raised £975 which was the best they have had to date. They are hoping to do it again next year.
Thanks again for making their night, Kindest regards,” Julie
(Wedding) ” I just wanted to say thank you very much to you and the rest of the band for playing at our wedding at Arley Hall on 21 September. We really enjoyed the dancing as did our guests and it got everyone of all ages up on the dance floor! We had a great time and there are some really good photos of the dancing. I was particularly impressed by the caller managing to call and dance at the same time when my mum didn’t have a partner! Thanks again for being such an important part of our special day.”

Anfield Home Baked Christmas Market. ” Thanks so much for the great music and dancing. It really lifted our spirits in spite of the wind and the rain!”
